Sikkim Silk Route or the Old Silk Route is the route that connects India and China. This route was used during first century AD for trade purposes. You could have guessed what type of goods would have been traded through this route. Yes, silk is the most common goods.

Along with silk; tea, horses and many other treasured commodities were traded. This route connects Bhutan, Sikkim, West Bengal, China and many other places. During the winter season between November and April, this route would be totally covered by snow making it the most inhospitable route. During summer and early winter, this route would be a paradise. This route connects some of the heavens in the world.

Pick up from NJP station and transfer to Sillerygaon

Sillery Gaon, a small village surrounded on all sides by tall pine trees, at a height of about 6000 ft in the Darjeeling district, is an upcoming tourist destination, lovingly called by the locals as New Darjeeling.

Check in in our Homestay and have lunch . After lunch visit Damsang fort and explore the village on foot . Over night stay in Sillerygaon.

Sillerygaon to Delo Park excursion

Early morning you have option to trek till Ramity View Point ( 3 km ). It is another ideal location to get a view of the Kanchenjunga above and the River Teesta below. 

The view point is unique and offers the longest view of the Teesta, as it meanders through the valley with its 14 bends. It is a sight one must behold. One can do birdwatching from here. 

After Breakfast start for Delo Park sight seeing . Return homestay in the afternoon . Have lunch and spend the evening on your own. Witness the mighty Mt.  Kanchanjunga and Himalyan Range from the homestay.

Sillerygaon to Padamchen

After Breakfast start for Padamchen . On the way stop at Reshikhola for an picturesque view of Reshi river . Then head towards Padamchen stopping by Kuekhola Water falls, Lingtham, Nimachen and then reach Padamchen.

Silk Route Trail

After breakfast start for the entire silk route trail covering Zuluk , Zig Zag View Point, Thambi view Point, Nathang valley, Elephant Lake, Kupup Lake,  Old Baba Mandir. By late afternoon back to Padamchen. Have lunch and spend the evening on your own. Overnight stay in Padamchen.

After breakfast start for Aritar . – Lamphokhri Lake

Aritar is a region in the East Sikkim district of the Indian state of Sikkim under Rongli Sub-Division. It is known for its natural and landscaped beauty. Reach Aritar Homestay by Afternoon . Have Lunch and start for Lampokhri Lake . You can enjoy boating in Lampokhri lake . Initially one of the oldest natural lake in Sikkim and recently artificially constructed to facilitate boating for the tourists. At an altitude of 4600 ft (1,400 m) it is the only lake with boating facility in Sikkim.

Aritar to NJP Drop

After Breakfast check out from Aritar and start for NJP . By afternoon drop in NJP .Trip ends with fond memories.
